NOTES
On their second cd The Sweet Potatoes are in fine form; writing, picking and singing at their best, all with their own kind of twang. Produced by Nashville favorite, Phil Swann, the band is joined in the studio by guests that include David Carpenter (Billy Ray Cyrus, Julian Lennon) and Laura Hall's band mate from her “day job” on Whose Line is it Anyway, Linda Taylor (Maia Sharp, Crystal Bowersox).

Original songs include “Sweet Thing”, a back porch style ode to love, and “You Kissed Me That Way”, a driving ballad about the power of that first kiss. The cd title comes from their bluegrass infused tune about the joys of rural living, “Spunky Bottoms”. The band also does a bluesy take on Patsy Cline's “Walkin' After Midnight”, and a delicately dark acoustic version of The Eurthymics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”.

"A total winner of back porch folk record. Completely tasty as it rolls from one song to the next, this is a folkie dream set that gets it right throughout." - Chris Spector, Midwest Record
